HIV and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program - 2024

Community program organized by Chetana Child and Women Welfare Society for awareness of HIV and cervical cancer

Chetna Child and Women Welfare Society Targeted Intervention Project Office organized a community program on the occasion of International Women's Day at Mangalam Bhawan, Birgaon.

The said program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Mrs. Indu Sahu and Poonam Sahu as the chief guests. Mayor of Birgaon Municipal Corporation area, Nandlal Dewangan and Director of Niramay Foundation, Sureshna ji were present.

Director Indu Sahu told that Women's Day is a step towards empowerment and the purpose of this day is also to encourage the progress and development of women. It is very important for women to get equal participation in every field.

She said that this year's theme Inspire Inclusion means promoting the creation of a society for women where women can feel connected and empowered. For example, in a particular field, if there are no women in a company, then the purpose of the Inspire Inclusion Campaign is to ask that if there are no women, then why are they not there? If there is any kind of discrimination against women, then it is necessary to eliminate the discrimination. If women are not treated well then it is necessary to take action against it.

Similarly, while appreciating the work being done by the organization, Mayor Nandlal Dewangan said that it is necessary to consult the concerned counselors from time to time about HIV AIDS and the side effects of HIV/TB disease and its prevention and control. Information given in advance.

It was proposed that women should increase their participation by participating in every field. Niramay Cancer Foundation Director Sudeshna Madam, gave detailed information about cervical cancer, breast cancer and sexually transmitted diseases occurring in women. She told all the women how to take care of their health and their reproductive organs in their busy daily life.

Project director Poonam Sahu gave detailed information about dietary restrictions and said that the rapid spread of AIDS is a matter of concern for the society. In such a situation, only through awareness can we remain safe from HIV. The work of creating awareness about AIDS by identifying highly sensitive areas is being done by the organization for the last 14 years.

Till now, the organization has conducted free HIV testing of 6000 women, out of which 65 HIV suffering women and their families have been taken to ART Center.

The work of providing medicines was done, hence detailed information was given about the four symptoms of AIDS and its prevention.

Similarly, the women present there were given the opportunity to participate in Mehndi, Rangoli and dance competition. Those who performed excellently were honored by the awards by the organization.
