Child trafficking and child abuse is a very big problem in the country. Child labor is another contributory factor for this. There are many Acts and laws to curb this but they have not fared well till the initiation of child line emerged by Child Line Foundation. The Foundation was given the responsibility of setting up of district wise nodal agency and units for tracking the child abuse. For this the district level resource needs to be mapped and child line number needs to be published. These can be possible through engaging NGOs at district level as nodal agencies and sub units to support the nodal agency. These units actually work in the field and identify the child in distress and put them in the mainstream through various schemes of the government. The organization is one such unit in Raipur serving for the welfare of Children.

Objective : To track every child in distress and put them into the main stream of life through various resources identified for the purpose and the related schemes of government.

Project area : The city of Raipur is the area allocated for the organization to track the children in distress.

Activities : The activities include setting up of information channel to obtain information on the children in distress through various modes. Further the children identified are referred to respective rehabilitation units, making them united with their families, alerting the society to inform about such children and advocating for their welfare at council etc.

Results : The organization has been successfully implementing this project and identified many children and tried to put them into the mainstream of life. The organization was successful in establishing the information network in the allotted project area for identification of child at distress. Many children were referred to the child homes, medical centers for their health and education centers for their education. The organization as also helped in uniting some children to their family.

Challenges : The challenges in the project include dealing with the vested interests and poor response of some departments. The quality of care for children are not up to the mark and at times the organization was loggerheads with some departments.
