Nyaya Panchayat

Background: There has been persistent increase in the domestic violence and rising issues on family courts. These can be reduced drastically , if the women are made aware of the legal information . Their empowerment on governance will help check the rate of domestic violence. Also it will facilitate the exercise of basic civil rights by women in the country. Taking this seriously, the Service unit of Judiciary undertakes legal awareness programme ar rural areas in the name of Nyaya Panchayat. The organization was appointed to conduct such legal awareness programme in Dhamtari district at every panchayat.

Objectives : The objectives is to empower the rural community with legal information especially to women in rural area.

Project area : All the panchayats of Gujra block in Dhamtari district in Chhattishgarh.

Activities : The activities mostly are conducting legal awareness camps with the help of legal specialists. Each camp is for a tenure of four to five hours .

Result : The organization has successfully conducted these camps within the timeline prescribed by the Judiciary service cell.
